Vertigo is an incredible rock tune that evokes deep, spiritual meaning. The first stanza talks of sin: 'it's dark, the jungle is your head'. Darkness represents confusion while the jungle represents a place of chaos. It finishes off with the line: 'and though your soul, it can't be bought your mind can wander'. Like A Song: Vertigo. U2's 'Vertigo' is a song that I've come back to again and again since it showed up in 2004 on the How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb album. As a musical piece, the song was enthusiastically received by fans and critics, often recognized as a modern reinvention of.
The song lent its name to the band's 2005–2006. In the United States, 'Vertigo' peaked at number 31 on the and number one on the chart.

'Vertigo' won three for, and at the ceremony in 2005. 'Vertigo' ranked number 64 on 's list of the. Contents. Composition In the case of 'Vertigo', I was thinking about this awful nightclub we've all been to. You're supposed to be having a great time and everything's extraordinary around you and the drinks are the price of buying a bar in a Third World country.you're just looking around and you see big, fat Capitalism at the top of its mountain, just about to topple. It's that woozy, sick feeling of realizing that here we are, drinking, eating, polluting, robbing ourselves to death.
And in the middle of the club, there's this girl. She has crimson nails. I don't even know if she's beautiful, it doesn't matter but she has a cross around her neck, and the character in this stares at the cross just to steady himself. The Recording Academy, USA.

Croke Park tribute There was no doubt that the sound was a bit iffy. It was their first gig on the tour in their hometown. They were a little nervous, and quite right too. Half of Ireland was there, or at least it felt like it - cars and crowds and yahoos from every corner of the island. It might have been lost on some of the visitors there - the Italians, the Yanks, the Irish diaspora back for a weekend of spending and bragging, or just 'to be there', but for the rest of us, spilling onto the pitch at Croke Park, one of our historic fulcrums, was a heady moment.
And when the first chords of 'Sunday, Bloody Sunday' began to echo around Hogan and Cusack, well. The hairs on the back of our necks jumped and our lungs paused momentarily to fill to the brim before a mighty roar worthy of Cuchulain and Brian Boru was let rip.
'Have you heard the news today.' We're all on a life journey with Bono, Larry, Adam and the Edge.
They age gracefully as we do, carrying our dreams on their strings and high notes. They are our brothers, our storytellers, our home grown icons.
